Nearly 120 employers are coming to Smith Memorial Student Union on Feb. 6 & 7 to recruit students for internships and full-time jobs. Employers include Kaiser Permanente, Portland General Electric, the U.S. Peace Corps and the State of Oregon.

Eugenia Dalto’s job search started at an accounting job fair and ended with a full-time auditing job at her top-choice firm: Deloitte.

Your chance to find out about job and internship opportunities is coming Feb. 6 & 7 at the Engineering and Technology Job Fair and the All Majors Career Fair in Smith Memorial Student Union.

For a full list of employers, go here for the engineering fair and here for the all majors fair.

Before she was hired, Dalto researched employers, polished her cover letter and resume, attended career workshops and practiced presenting herself in mock interviews. The job fair led to interviews at three firms and a summer internship at Deloitte. At the end of the summer, she was offered a full-time job.

She recommends starting early — she was one of the few juniors looking for a job last year — and knowing what you want. She’s relieved to have a job lined up before she graduates in June.

“It would be much more stressful right now if I had to study for the CPA exam and go through the recruiting process,” she says.
