Pollyanne Birge graduated from Portland State University in 2003 with a BS majoring in Sociology, and in 2011 as a Master of Public Administration.

(From the Independent Publishing Resource Center) —The IPRC is thrilled to announce the hiring of Pollyanne Birge as our new Development and Community Resource Coordinator (DCRC).

Pollyanne comes to this position with a very impressive background. From 2006 until 2010, she served as the Arts and Culture Policy and Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Mayor Sam Adams. She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management from Portland State University, and since 2011 has worked as Development Coordinator for the vibrant nonprofit Know Your City. Her candidacy for the position was also greatly strengthened by her deep involvement with the IPRC: she previously worked as an Open Hours volunteer, and has served on the IPRC's Board of Directors since 2010, and as Board Chairperson since early 2012.

As we've witnessed over the years, Pollyanne is a community connector and an idea person; she's an inclusive collaborator and an innovative fundraiser. She also has very toned interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills. These are all qualities that will serve the Center well as she takes over the role of coordinating IPRC volunteers, community resources, and development efforts. Please join us in giving Pollyanne the warmest of welcomes, and look for her to begin training in late July and early August. She can be reached after her July 29 start date at pollyanne@iprc.org.
