Veterans' Services welcomes you to Portland State University. We work to assist veterans in making a smooth transition from military life to that of a student.
For questions concerning your DVA educational benefits, you should contact the Veterans Adviser who can help you with questions concerning admissions, program planning, and DVA educational benefits. The importance of good career and academic program planning cannot be overstated. Good planning will save you time, money and unnecessary problems. Veterans Certification Office
The Veterans' Certification Office is responsible for certifying veterans, their dependents, and those in the Selected Reserve and Guard to receive DVA educational assistance. In overseeing the certification process, the Veterans' Certification Office monitors each veterans' continuing program of study. This entails a review of the following:
The personnel of the Veterans' Certification Office perform the following duties:
- Dispense applications, requests for certification forms, and DVA work-study applications
- Type necessary forms for the certification process
- Forward certifications and documents to the DVA Regional Office and the Regional Processing Center in Muskogee, OK (1-888-442-4551)
- Report all certification and change in student status information to the Veterans Administration
- Provide registration information

PSU Student Veteran Services
Located in the School of Extended Studies, 1633 SW Park Ave. Room 123, the PSU Student Veterans Services is staffed by a full time Accredited Veterans Service Officer from Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs.
Acting as a liaison and advocate on behalf of veterans, their dependents, and survivors of veterans, the Veterans Service Officer will provide a full range of assistance, services and support to facilitate PSU and partner college veterans transition back into the community and ensure they achieve their educational goals and secure a decent standard of living for themselves and their families.
