Transfer, Post-Bacc & Graduate Students

If you are new to Portland, PSU or University Housing you probably have a lot of questions! Our goal is to offer a safe, welcoming and supporting on campus environment for PSU students, scholars and visiting faculty.
All non-first year (aged 19 or older) students may indicate a preference for any of our buildings, including non-first year floors of Ondine, Broadway and Stephen Epler. Non-first year students are also eligible for both the Global Village and the Urban Honors programs.
We have ten buildings with many different kinds of rooms: sleepers, studios, and 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. The student has the option of choosing to live in a single room, or a double, with a roommate. However, singles are the most sought after kinds of units and there may be little to no availability. University Housing almost always has doubles available throughout the Academic year.
For more information about all our buildings, please visit the Hall Info section of this website. We also offer tours of show rooms in Broadway and Ondine. Housing Tours take place Monday through Friday and starts in the Housing Office at 1:30pm. Additionally, two tours are offered daily at 11:00am and 3:00pm from the New Student Programs Office in Neuberger Hall Room 131. Floor plans, virtual tours of each of our room types and pictures of our buildings can be viewed at the University Housing Office. Due to technical limitations we are often unable to email pictures, videos, or floor plans. Please contact the University Housing Office at (503) 725-4375 with any questions you may have.
Acquiring a PSU ID Number
We also offer housing options for OHSU students, as well as student affiliated with NWCA and the Art Institute of Portland. Students who are seeking campus housing at Portland State University that attend any other school in the area will first need to have a PSU ID number created for them. To get a PSU ID number, email the Housing Office at housing@pdx.edu with the following information:
- Full Name
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Permanent Mailing Address
- Phone Number
- Dates of Visit
- A letter from institution confirming that you are a student who meets our eligibility requirements
Once your PSU ID number has been created, we will send you the ID number, which you can then use to submit a Housing Contract.
It is important that students keep in mind that when making room assignments, the Housing Office will give priority to PSU students. Also keep in mind that students from other institutions who contract with PSU Housing will be bound by the same terms and conditions as PSU students.
