First Year Experience

FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE
The First Year Experience (FYE) program is located on the lower floors of the Ondine and Broadway Buildings. Resident Assistants and Learning Communities Assistants reside on the floors of the First Year Experience Program to help first year students get to know one another, the university and the city. Educational and social programs are held regularly, and assistance is available to aid students in navigating the University System.

FYE Clusters: Within the larger FYE program, there are two smaller FYE Clusters that require enrollment in a particular FYE only FRINQ section. The FYE-only classes have a unique programming design that enhances your educational classroom experience through both educational and social programming within the residence halls. This arrangement reinforces what you are learning inside the classroom and provides first year students with the opportunity to meet other students who share similar interests, classes, and social activities.

The two Clusters for 2009-2010 are:

  • Civic Leadership (click here for more information)
  • Sustainability (click here for more information)

A meal plan is required for all FYE residents and is included in the cost of the program. To learn more about the Dining options available for First Year Experience residents please visit the Dining page of this website.
