Background
Dr.Harris came to Portland State University in September 2004 with over 20years of experience in Human Resources Management and OrganizationalDevelopment in the public and private sectors. She received her Ph.D.in Public Administration with emphasis in Public Management fromRutgers University in 2003; an M.A. in Psychology from the Universityof Northern Colorado; and a B.A. in Social Psychology with a minor inOrganizational Behavior from Park University (formerly Park College).
Upongraduation from Rutgers University, Dr. Harris taught OrganizationalBehavior, Human Resources Management and related courses at DrexelUniversity during the 2003-2004 academic year.
Dr. Harrisis also a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force Reserve.She is currently on assignment as an Assistant Professor and Directorof Special Projects, with the Department of Preventive Medicine andBiometrics in the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at the UniformedServices University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). In her capacity,Dr. Harris teaches courses in Health Services Management Administrationand directs and coordinates the self-study process for nationalaccreditation for the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) forthe School of Medicine's Masters in Public Health Program. She formerlyserved on active duty in the United States Air Force.
