Peter Bechtold (Ph.D. & M.A., Princeton University; B.A., Portland State University) is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science. He as taught graduate level courses and seminars at the Foreign Service Institute, Georgetown, George Washington, Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Oregon Universities; Army, Naval, Air War Colleges; Marine Corps & National Defense Universities. These seminars have ranged from Introductory to Advanced covering Politics, Religion, History, Economics, US Policy, and Palestine/Israel Conflict. Dr. Bechtold is an award winning professor of 11,000+ US government employees (State Department, DOD, Commerce, CIA, FBI, USAID, USIA) in intensive courses and long term seminars. His field research includes 25 Mid East countries, from Egypt to Israel to Iraq to Kazakhstan to the Gulf. He has held private briefings for numerous ambassadors and flag officers and is fluent in Arabic (studied classical and several dialects), German and French. Dr. Bechtold has done media appearances on MacNeil Lehrer, PBS, CNN, NPR & overseas radio. His publications include Politics in the Sudan, 20+ articles, book chapters, encyclopedia entries, bibliographies and videography.
