Background
Professor Yesilada received his BA in neurobiology from University of California at Berkeley (1977); his M.A. in political science from San Francisco State University (1979); and his Ph.D. in political science from University of Michigan, (1984).
Research Focus
Research and teaching interests include: Power Transition Theory, European Union, Turkish politics, Political Economy, World Values Survey (Cyprus), decision making and forecasting, and methodology.
Community Engagements/Service
Local & State:
Coordinator of the University Scholar scholarships for District 5100 of Rotary International.
New Generations (Youth Programs) Committee chair for District 5100 of Rotary International.
Past-president (2006-07) of the Rotary Club of Tigard, Oregon.
National:
Federal Government: Invited policy consultant at the National Intelligence Council, the U.S. State Department, the Foreign Affairs Training Center of the Foreign Service Institute, the U.S. Defense Department. Also invited by the White House to take part in a panel study at the RAND Corporation on "Politics and Islam in the New Constitution of Afghanistan." The White House presented the final document to the Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
