Challenge Grant Increases Impact of Scholarship Gifts
With a mission of access and excellence in education, Portland State University has identified scholarships as one of its top fundraising priorities. A college degree is a prerequisite for many careers yet is increasingly difficult to afford
Thanks to two matching challenge grants from the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, friends of Portland State University have an opportunity to help support students through scholarships and to increase the impact of their gifts.
- Your gift to the President’s Equal Access Scholarship will be matched up to a total of $100,000. Through Equal Access Scholarships, PSU attracts outstanding students of diverse backgrounds and experiences, including racial and ethnic backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Equal Access Scholars maintain good academic standing, contribute to the learning environment and share their unique strengths and diverse perspectives through campus activities and community service.
- Your gift to the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Endowed Scholarship in the School of Social Work will be matched up to a total of $50,000. This fund supports graduate level social work students. Mrs. Macdonald focused her time and passion with the intent to relieve misfortune and promote well being. With 50 years of excellence in social work education, the School of Social Work is preparing the next generation of leaders who are the perfect fit to honor Mrs. Macdonald's legacy.
You can support PSU students while increasing the impact of your gift. For more information about participating in the Simon Benson Awards Dinner Scholarship Challenge, please contact Danielle Cox, 503-725-8135, email@example.com
