FAQ: How can I earn academic credit for internships with student government?

Interns work directly with the executive staff and gain excellent real-world experience as leaders.  As an intern, you can also earn Leadership, Political Science, or Women's Studies credits.  Usually, interns earn between 1 and 3 credits.

Leadership credits are free for students concurrently taking 12 or more credits, as the Instructional Fee is waived.  If you are taking less than 12 credits, the Instructional Fee is still waived, but you will have to pay the associated Incidental, Building, Technology, Health, and Resource Fees.  Depending on your class standing, Leadership credits are counted as lower or upper division electives.
