The School offers financial aid to a limited number of incomingstudents in the form of Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA). GRApositions cover the cost of tuition (less some student fees) and pay asmall monthly stipend. There are usually only 5-8 GRA positionsavailable to entering students. GRAs spend their time assisting facultywith research, assisting in course preparation, doing literaturereviews, and other tasks. In addition, individaul faculty and researchinstitutes often hire GRAs to work on specific projects funded throughexternal grants and contracts. In 2003-04 there were 14 GRAs fundedthrough external sources. Students are sometimes hired on an hourlybasis, without tuition coverage.
Additional financial aid information is available from PSU's Financial Aid Office and Office of Graduate Studies. There are some scholarships related to the MURP program listed here.
