September 2012: Thousands of people in more than 100 Chinese cities protest Japan’s decision to nationalize Senkaku and Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea. A complex historical relationship lies behind this dispute, to be sure, but are there also economic undercurrents that have led to the massive anti-Japanese movement in China?
