Hello Everyone,
For those of you that have never experienced a Burns Supper before I have attached an information sheet with a little background information on what this is all about. (Please click on the words Burns Supper above).
Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. is our Fourth Annual Robert Burns Supper being held at Portland State University. We are fortunate to be conducting the dinner this year in the newly remodeled Ballroom of the Smith Center Building. The last three years have been spectacular! We would like to thank everyone who has attended in the past and welcome you to attend the dinner again this year in our new location!
We are also fortunate to be inviting back the Rose in the Heather band for more of their incredible Celtic music. We have also secured the Highland Park Distillery to present their wonderful whisky this year(this is Johns (my Scottish husband) favorite whisky). The presenter will be Martin Daraz the U.S. Brand Ambassador for Highland Park.
Here is what you have to look forward to this year:
- Sparkling wine reception with appetizers.
- Commemorative glasses.
- Rose in the Heather band of course.
- Bag Piper to open the evening and pipe in the haggis.
- Highland dancers.
- Mike Burton our Master of Ceremonies.
- The Immortal Memory.
- The Toast to the Lassies and Reply from the Lassies.
- Traditional haggis, neeps and tatties. Plus a Bonnie Prince Charlie chicken and vegetarian options for those non-daring folks.
- A surprise dessert with coffee or tea.
- Local Oregon wine for the tables.
- No host bar for the evening.
- Highland Park to present the whisky this year.
- Plus, door and raffle prizes and much more.
Come join in the fun! It is going to be a spectacular evening!
