School of Business Administration
The School of Business Administration (SBA) occupies the eastern half of a six-story building which is shared with the Graduate School of Education. This building is located between SW Broadway, Harrison, Sixth and Montgomery.
There are three street level entrances to the building. The Sixth Avenue entrance is on the first floor, the north and south entrances (facing Montgomery and Harrison Street) are on the second floor in the middle of the building.
Skybridge access leading to other campus structures are on the fourth floor. The North Skybridge leads to the University Services Building and beyond to Smith Memorial, Cramer, and Lincoln. The South Skybridge leads to Parking Structure Two, and beyond to Smith Memorial and Neuberger.
The structure was built in two phases between 1979 and 1989. Completion of the second half, then called Professional Schools Building II (now SBA), occurred May 30, 1989. Professional Schools Building I was constructed for the Graduate School of Education in 1979 and retained that name until shortly before the Business Administration building opened. The architectural firm for both halves was Campbell-Yost-Grube Architects though the 1979 structure was designed by an earlier incarnation of the firm, Yost-Grube-Hall. An unimplemented third phase was planned for the northern half of the block and would have included a five-story theater and a six-story social work/urban affairs building.
