What is the PSU OneCard?
The PSU OneCard provides numerous benefits, both to the university and to you.
Your official student ID. The PSU OneCard is the official student ID used for access to the library, rec. center, dining services and more.
Financial Aid and Other University Refunds. Higher One, the vendor for the new PSU OneCard, will distribute financial aid disbursements and other university refunds to you. You can choose to have the funds deposited to a free OneAccount checking account, transferred to an existing bank account, or have a paper check mailed to you.
Debit Card for the OneAccount checking account. If you choose to open a OneAccount checking account, you can use your ID card as a debit card off campus wherever MasterCard is accepted. See below for more information on the OneAccount checking account.
Activate your PSU OneCard and make your choice on the web. Chose your refund payment method: electronic vs. paper. Making an electronic choice (direct deposit to your own bank account--funds are available in 1-3 business days or opening a OneAccount checking account--funds are available same day) provides a faster, safer refund method. By contrast, paper checks are delivered to your address in 5-7 business days, plus refund checks are not forwardable by the US Postal Service. In addition, risks associated with any check in the mail may include loss, theft, and fraud.
