Place and Release Holds

If you are unable to access your account online, you may have a transcript or registration hold. To view the hold information, go to: my.pdx.edu.

A Registration Hold will be placed on an account under the following circumstances:

• Prior term balance of greater than $100, or
• Current term balance of greater than $1000 (resident) or greater than $2500 (non-resident), or
• Terms and Conditions of Payment (RCAP) have not been signed, or
• Unsatisfied Perkins Loan requirement(s), or
• An account transferred to a collection agency, or
• An account with a stop payment or an unsettled return check, or
• An account that's been written off, for active collection.

If you have a Registration Hold, and you’ve recently paid your balance down to $0, your hold will be removed automatically by the next business day.  No further effort is needed on your part.  If only a partial payment was made, you will need to contact Student Accounts to discuss the release of your hold.

During the 2012-2013 academic year registration holds will be placed on accounts on the following dates:

Summer Term 2012 Registration Holds
08/07/2012	Summer Term account balances must be under $100 by 5 p.m. on August 17th, 2012 to register for Fall Term.
Fall Term 2012 Registration Holds
11/02/2012	Resident Status: Fall Term account balances must be under $1000 by November 2nd 2012 to register for Winter Term.
11/02/2012	Non-Resident Status: Fall Term account balances must be under $2500 by November 2nd 2012 to register for Winter Term.
12/07/2012	Fall Term account balances must be under $100 by December 7th 2012 to register for Winter Term.
Winter Term 2013 Registration Holds
02/15/2013	Resident Status: Winter Term account balances must be under $1000 by February 15th 2013 to register for Spring Term.
02/15/2013	Non-Resident Status: Winter Term account balances must be under $2500 by February 15th 2013 to register for Spring Term.
03/22/2013	Winter Term account balance must be under $100 by March 22nd 2013 to register for Spring Term classes.
Spring Term 2013 Registration Holds
05/03/2013	Resident Status: Spring Term account balances must be under $1000 by May 3rd 2013 to register for Summer Term.
05/03/2013	Non-Resident Status: Spring Term account balances must be under $2500 by May 3rd 2013 to register for Summer Term.
06/14/2013	Spring Term account balances must be under $100 by June 14th 2013 to register for Summer Term.

A Transcript Hold is placed on an account with an outstanding balance. Transcripts will not be released for students with a balance due on their account.

A Perkins Hold is placed on an account which requires a Perkins Exit-Interview and/or is delinquent.

A Diploma Hold is placed on an account with an outstanding balance or unsatisfied Perkins requirements. Diplomas will not be released for students with a balance due on their account.

A Current Address Hold is placed on a student's account with an invalid address.

A Terms and Conditions Hold is placed on an account when the student has not yet signed the Terms and Conditions of Payment (RCAP) document.
