Spirit Mountain Community Fund, an entity of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon, has selected a candidate as the 2013/14 Mark O. Hatfield Fellow.
Rodolfo “Rudy” Soto (Portland State, 2011) is an enrolled member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribe and was recently selected from among a number of candidates. He will begin his nine-month fellowship in Washington D.C. in November.
Soto is a graduate of Portland State University and works for the National Indian Child Welfare Association in Portland as a youth engagement specialist. He is also a member of the Oregon Army National Guard.
He will eventually begin congressional placement as a Legislative Assistant of Congressman Kurt Schrader.
