Understanding Fund Availability

When awarding aid the PSU Office of Student Financial Aid is bound by federal and state requirements for certain funds, other funds may only have a limited pool at PSU and may be used up quickly each year in the awarding process. Funds such as SEOG, OSTG, Federal Work Study and Perkins Loans have limited availability. Since awarding occurs annually, you may receive a fund in one year, but not the next if funding levels change, or if more eligible students apply.

Awarding is also impacted by enrollment level and the type of degree you are pursuing. Note that Quick Entry (non-degree seeking) students are not eligible for federal or state financial aid.
