Complete the Federal Stafford Loan Exit counseling

Review and verify the total amount of your Federal Loans at the National Student Loan Data System

Once you graduate:

  • Update your lender with any changes to your name, address or other contact information

  • Loan Repayment usually begins six months after you graduate. Contact your lender to establish a repayment plan
  • You may be eligible for loan deferment if:

    • You are continuing your education and will be enrolled at least half time
    • If you are unable to find employment and/or are facing other economic hardships, you may be eligible for forbearance (a temporary cessation of payments).

Your lender may sell your loans to a student loan servicer so keep in touch with your Federal Student Loan lender or Loan Servicer.
