Before we can begin the review process, we must have all application materials in: official transcripts, all letters of recommendation, goal statement, resume, etc. (the requirements differ depending on the program -- see program application packet for details). Once all items have been received, an application packet takes 1-2 weeks to process. We then notify the applicant by mail to inform them of our decision.
At this point, we produce a letter for Admissions, informing them that we recommend this applicant to be formally admitted. It usually takes Admissions another month or so to complete their review. Admissions will then send the applicant a formal letter to inform them of their status.
Therefore you can expect a formal notification from the university 5-7 weeks after submission of a complete application packet.
