In order to be considered a music major or minor by the Department of Music, you must complete and pass an audition and submit a complete application to the department. Simply writing “music major” on your University application is not enough to be a major, and will only register you as a “music general” major. If you are unsure of your major registration, come into the office and ask. The office staff will be happy to look up your major standing and correct any errors with the proper forms. Always consult with the area coordinator if you have problems or questions concerning your status.
