Residents, (except for FYE* or Global Village*) have the option to provide written notification of intent to cancel and be released from the Contract for the upcoming academic term by the following deadlines. In these cases, the Advance Payment shall be forfeited, and Resident must Check-Out of the Unit by the designated move-out date listed below. Regardless of the date of Check-out, Resident shall be financially responsible for the entire current academic term (no prorated credit will be given for moving out prior to the listed move out date).

Deadlines are to Cancel, and to Move Out

2007-2008 Contract:

· Cancel for Winter Term: submit notice to cancel by 11/01/2007, and move out by 12/08/2007

· Cancel for Spring Term: submit notice to cancel by 02/15/2008, and move out by 03/22/2008

· Cancel for Summer Term (12-month only): submit notice to cancel by 05/01/2008, and move out by 06/14/2008

2008-2009 Contract:

· Cancel for Winter Term: Cancel by 10/31/2008; check-out by 12/13/2008

· Cancel for Spring Term: Cancel by 02/13/2009; check-out by 03/21/2009

· Cancel for Summer Term: (Full Year contract only): Cancel by 05/01/2009; check-out by 06/13/2009

 Residents who notify the University Housing Office of their intent to cancel after the Cancel at Term Deadline, but still wish to Check-Out by or before the move out date for the current academic term shall forfeit their Advance Payment, and:

· be held financially responsible for the entire current academic term

· be responsible for a buy-out payment of $9.00 per day for the upcoming academic term

· following payment, be released from any subsequent academic terms as applicable to Contract Type
 

*First-Year Experience (FYE) and Global Village participants may not cancel the contract under this section, and will be responsible for payment
for the entire term of the contract except for an approved cancellation from the Housing Office.
