Commencement is the symbolic ceremony that marks the closing of one’s college career. Graduation is the technical and actual fulfillment of requirements and obtainment of credits in order to receive a diploma and a degree. You will not be able to register for commencement until you have been approved for graduation via the degree requirement office.
