FAQ: What counts as an approved cancellation? What happens if cancellation is not approved?
With proper
documentation, the following reasons for termination of your contract are
considered approved cancellations and will receive a full refund of your advance
payment, and may receive a prorated refund of Housing charges from the date of
Check-Out:
· Graduation
· Voluntary
withdrawal from PSU
· Academic
program leave
· Participation
in a study abroad, co-op or internship program or student teaching outside of
the greater Portland
area.
· Call
to compulsory, active military duty
· Documented
medical and/or unforeseeable hardship emergencies (must be petitioned and
approved on a case-by-case basis by the Housing Office, please see the Petition
Guidelines in the University Housing
Handbook)
If your contract cancellation is not approved, your advance payment will
be forfeited, and you will be billed for the buy-out rate of $9 a day until the
end of the contract term.
