Profile: Meet Budget Director Michael Fung

After attending college and receiving his C.P.A. license in California, Michael began his financial planning career in various industries, spending several years in Saudi Arabia and then in Hawaii. Michael has set down roots in Oregon and is focused on making PSU's budgeting process as efficient and transparent as possible. Here are some of the budgeting services he and his staff provide:

• Annual budget planning for income, expense and transfers in all fund groups/sources including the preparation, adoption, implementation, and monitoring phases of the budget cycle.
• Management of classified and academic salary rosters, including associated payroll expenses and encumbrances.
• Preparation of special analyses, forecasts and other studies to support collective bargaining efforts, and legislative / governmental relations efforts.
• Assistance with the preparation of enrollment forecasts, projections and other analyses to support effective enrollment management.
• Support for student groups and the annual student fee budget and planning processes.
