Child Development Advisory Board

Charge and membership

In accordance with the Charter of the Helen Gordon Child Development Center, the Board advises on policies related to the programs of HGCDC and of the ASPSU Children's Center, "such as guidelines of ethical standards for research on children, staffing, budgeting, parent fee schedules, etc."

Membership of the Board includes:

  • Four student parents elected by HGCDC student parents
  • One faculty/staff/community parent elected by the HGCDC faculty/staff/community parents
  • Two student parents elected by ASPSU-CC student parents
  • One external community (non-PSU) member who has expertise in child development
  • Two students from academic programs that focus on educating and serving children and families, appointed by ASPSU
  • Four faculty from academic programs that focus on child development, appointed by Committee on Committees

Ex-officio / non-voting:

  • Representatives from HGCDC and ASPSU-CC staff and teachers
  • Representative of ASPSU Student Fee Committee
