"Wonderful Self-Reliance: The Remarkable Story of Abraham Lincoln's Leadership"

Richard Carwardine, the leading British authority on Abraham Lincoln, is coming to PortlandStateUniversity to give a free lecture on "Wonderful Self-Reliance: The Remarkable Story of Abraham Lincoln's Leadership."



Carwardine is the current Rhodes Professor of American History at Oxford, and 2004 winner of the prestigious Lincoln Prize for his book on Lincoln. He dedicated the book to his father, a schoolmaster who cultivated his early interest in history.
