Water Futures: Navigating Upstream
Professors Vivek Shandas and Barry Messer will kick off the series with a presentation entitled, "Water Futures: Navigating Upstream." Shandas, Messer and Toulan School students have worked closely with the City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services to examine, develop and promote the role of community-led efforts to address pressing water resource challenges of our region. They offer discoveries about Portland's engaged community, the role of higher education, and opportunities for investing wisely in the soft infrastructure of our city.
Dean Marriott, Director of BES, and Connie Ozawa, Director of the Toulan School welcome you to this event. Following their presentation, a panel of distinguished community leaders from private, public and non-profit sectors will provide further insights about the role of community in making great places.
