Tet is the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. Like the Chinese New Year, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year is undisputedly one of the most celebrated and important holidays in the Vietnamese culture. Its celebration is typically marked with a commemoration ceremony and tokens sold for games, dragon dance performances, enjoyment of great foods, festival activities, and much more.
This year, the Vietnamese Students Association of Portland State University (PSU-VSA) and Vietnamese Students Association of Portland Community College (PCC-VSA) are proud to be hosting the Vietnamese Tet Holiday and Festival of 2007. This is a free event open to everyone and will occur during the afternoon.
You will be entertained with traditional games, picture taking, and calligraphy during the pre-show portion. The show itself will be filled with lion dance, traditional performances and dances, modern dancing, singing, and a fabulous fashion show. There will also be Vietnamese delicacies for sale with proceeds going towards the student organization. We have invited the talented Anh Minh along with DJ Milk and Song Dem Band to perform for us during the dance that night. Come and join in on the fun!
