Sherifa Zuhur is a scholar of Islamist movements, national security issues and culture of Egypt and several other countries of the Middle East. She is currently the Director of Middle Eastern, Islamic and Strategic Studies and formerly a professor at the American Science and Arabic Lit., Islamic Studies and the History of the Middle East and has authored 15 books including Revealing Reveiling: Islamist Gender Ideology in Contemporary Egypt and Egypt: Security, Political, and Islamist Challenges.

Bruce Gilley earned his BA in International Relations at the University of Toronto. He went on to finish his MPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford and his PhD in Politics at Princeton University. Dr. Gilley is a frequent advisor to govenments and NGOs on matters of democracy and human rights in Asia. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Democracy and as a programme evaluator for Radio Free Asia's Mandarin Service
