Todd Duncan teaches astronomy at Portland Community College and is director of the Science Integration Institute. He has a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Chicago and is author of Glimpses of Wonder and co-author of the college textbook, Your Cosmic Context: An Introduction to Modern Cosmology.
Science and technology are widely valued for enhancing our ability to control the external world. But insights from science and technology can also profoundly impact our internal frame of mind, by serving as windows into the deeper reality that underlies our everyday world. In this presentation I’ll offer a few examples to illustrate what I mean by windows to wonder and provide a framework for creating your own windows in your field of expertise
