The Take is a documentary film that focuses on workers of a ceramic floors factory in Neuquen, in Argentinian Patagonia. The factory at which these individuals worked was abandoned by the corporation and subsequently all the workers lost their jobs, not an uncommon story in this region. However, the workers banded together to occupy the factories and begin production for themselves thus beginning to rebuild their local economy. The Take is a story of empowerment, challenging globalization in favor of local economies. It is an inspiring story of people standing up to corporate giants and prevailing.
