Social Sustainability and the Economy – Part 2: Options
with John Settle, Associate Professor of Finance, SBA, Portland State University and others

Date: Friday, June 5
Time: 1:00 -3:00pm
Place: School of Business Administration, Room 130

Understanding the economic meltdown and developing better and more socially sustainable responses - Help us come up with a better way! We are STILL muddling through this crisis with too many disparate theories applied to a situation nobody grasps, too many solutions at odds with one another, too much logrolling and lobbying, and too many unintended consequences. Professor Settle will briefly review his ideas of some of the behaviors that led up to this crisis (with some updates from our February Colloquium) and then we'll hear some creative ideas from some innovative local people. Since no one is an expert in this unprecedented crisis, we can all join together in devising our responses. And this really is the essence of social sustainability!
