Sail the Seven C's - 6th Annual PSU Student Leadership Conference
Friday, January 25, 2008 - 11:00am to Friday, January 25, 2008 - 4:30pm
The 6th Annual Student Leadership Conference will be January 25th in the Smith Ballroom (3rd floor). Our theme this year focuses on the seven "C's" identified in the Social Change Model of Leadership:

* Collaboration
* Consciousness of Self
* Commitment
* Congruence
* Common Purpose
* Controversy with Civility
* Citizenship

Jefferson Smith executive director of the Bus Project, will jump start the Conference with what will undoubtedly be an inspiring keynote address. The Bus Project is a volunteer-driven progressive organization based in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Smith will share his insights on leadership gleaned from leading the Bus Project from "cocktail-napkin-centered discussions" in 2001 to an ambitious and successful movement that is working toward an Oregon that is heralded as a progressive model of political engagement for the nation.

Following the keynote address, breakout sessions will provide participants with opportunities to connect in smaller groups. In order to create an event that also capitalizes on the wealth of knowledge and expertise within the PSU campus community, the committee is reaching out to faculty, staff and students who are known to have demonstrated leadership qualities, competencies and vision to facilitate these breakout sessions.
