WHAT: Restorative Yoga Workshop: Yoga and Colds
WHEN: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All of the yoga asanas (poses) have some health benefits. Some poses, especially when done together in a sequence, will relax the body, calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, allowing the body to begin to heal itself.
The purpose of the class is to prepare you before you become ill, so you will know what to do when the symptoms begin. The class will begin with a short intro on the chosen health topic by a medical doctor from SHAC followed by the practice of specific sequences of yoga poses that will alleviate the basic symptoms of the health topic discussed.
In the class we will take time to learn which poses are best for us, how to support ourselves in each pose, and how to modify the pose to meet our own needs.
