 Lisa H. Weasel, Ph.D.
Food Fray: Inside the Controversy over Genetically Modified Foods

Lisa Weasel, professor of molecular biology at Portland State University, will talk about her book, Food Fray: Inside the Controversy over Genetically Modified Foods, and lead a conversation about this important issue.

"Dr. Weasel offers an eye-opening account of the murky terrain where science, ethics, and politics have intersected throughout modern history in the life of genetically modified (GM) foods—from the GM frenzy in Europe and U.S. food aid in Africa to hormone-treated milk and biofuel here in the United States. Reading Food Fray feels like listening to a friend explain lucidly what you could never grasp in a way that feels honest and forthright." (Edible Portland, Winter 2009).

Visit Professor Weasel's website, Food Fray: Dispatches from the Global Food Front, for updates about the food industry.
