Harold Schnitzer Family Program in Judaic Studies @ PSU
presents an open lecture, "Jewish Museums and Holocaust Memorials in US and Israel"
by Marcus Patka, Curator, Jewish Museum of Vienna.
Patkas lecture uses photographs of Jewish museums and Holocaust
memorials to compare differences in the presentation of Jewish
experience in Israel and the US. Patka interned at New York's Jewish
Museum and mounted traveling exhibitions to Israel, Greece, and
Australia as part of his work at the Jewish Museum of Vienna.
Monday, July 12, 7 to 8 pm, 158 Cramer Hall, PSU (Broadway and
Montgomery)
Free and open to all. The lecture is part of the summer course, Museums
and Memorials of the Holocaust and Jewish Heritage, taught by Marcus
Patka. The syllabus is available at www.judaic.pdx.edu/osjs. Free street
parking is available after 6 pm and free parking in PSU structures after
