Olympic Resistance Network Film Screening and Presentation

WHAT: Join us at the PSU Native American Student and Community Center to learn more about the social and environmental implications of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC Canada. We welcome speakers from the Olympic Resistance Network of Coast Salish Territories Canada.

Presentation will address concerns of the 2010 Olympics with the themes of:
Occupation of Stolen Native Land
"Security" and Eroding Civil Liberties
Environmental Destruction and Waste
Corporatization
Damage to Communities
Honouring Exploitation
Lack of Affordable Housing
Public Costs and Debt

The Olympic Resistance Network supports the international resolution passed by over 1500 Indigenous delegates at the Intercontinental Indigenous Peoples Gathering in Sonora, Mexico to boycott the 2010 Olympic Games based on Resolution #2 of the Gathering which states "We reject the 2010 Winter Olympics on sacred and stolen territory of Turtle Island Vancouver, Canada."

This event is presented in collaboration with Students for Unity, Pan American Solidarity Organization, and the Native American Student and Community Center.
