Occupational Safety Conference

Location: Smith Memorial Union rooms 296 & 298
Fee: Registration fees are $60 with advance registration and payment by 11/14 and $75 at the door. However, there are reduced registration fees ($25) for Oregon state government agencies, educational institutions, companies with fewer than 25 employees, and students.

The Occupational Health Psychology Program in the Department of Psychology will be hosting a conference titled "The Multidimensional Causes of Accidents and Injuries" on Friday November 18th, from 9:00 to 3:30 PM. The speakers will include: "How workplace design can reduce accidents and injuries" - Lynda Enos, RN, MS, COHN-S, CPE, Oregon Nursing Association and HumanFit; "The complexity of hiring safe employees" - George Paajanen, Ph.D., Unicru; "A labor perspective on the causes of occupational injuries and illnesses" - Jackie Nowell, CIH, MPH, and "Innovative management techniques that address the causes of work injury" - John Austin, Ph.D., Western Michigan University.
