Anthropologist Hillary Crane will talk about her ethnographic field research with Taiwanese Buddhist nuns who claim that now that they have renounced the world and become nuns, they are becoming men.
Originally from the Seattle area, Hillary Crane earned her Ph.D. at Brown University in Providence, RI and returned to the northwest in 2007 when she began teaching at Linfield College where she is an Associate Professor of Anthropology.
