WHAT: Japanese American Citizens League Day of Remembrance
WHEN: Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: Hoffman Hall, Portland State University
Please save the date--February 20--for the annual Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) Day of Remembrance-as we remember EO 9066 and the injustice of incarcerating all persons of Japanese descent during WWII. But the mission of JACL is also to ensure the civil and human rights of all. This year we will be highlighting the challenges our LGBT community continues to face in their fight for equality. We will feature a panel discussion with representatives from Just Out and Basic Rights Oregon and special guest and keynote speaker, George Takei.
This event is free to the public.
For more information about the event, please contact the Portland Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League by telephone:1.877.843.6914, email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit their website: http://www.pdxjacl.org/.
