IRAQI FOOD CART FUNDRAISER, March 10
WHAT: A culinary showcase featuring the distinct style and cuisine of Iraq. Sample a wide variety of dishes, meet the chefs, and help them as they embark on becoming food vendors in Portland.
The event will help raise funds for the area’s only Iraqi food cart, a microenterprise project and cultural exchange, creating jobs and opportunities for recent Iraqi refugees.
Between 1,500 and 2,000 Iraqi refugees have resettled in the Portland-Salem area since 2009.
WHEN: Saturday, March 10, 6-8 p.m.
WHERE: Center for Intercultural Organizing, 700 N. Killingsworth St., Portland, OR
COST: $10 for one ticket, $15 for two tickets
