An Evening Filled with Cultural Colors at Portland State University
Portland State University will host its 29th annual International Night, themed "Colors of the World," on Friday May 20, 2005, in the Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU). Each year, PSU's Organization of International Students (OIS) has sponsored and promoted cultural diversity through this event. The evening will be filled with lots of international entertainment, great food, country booths and wonderful people from all over the world.
In 2004, approximately 800 people from the greater Portland community came to International Night. For almost 30 years, the event has been gaining popularity in the Portland community, and has become one of the biggest events at PSU. International Night gives a great opportunity for PSU students, families, faculty and staff and the greater Portland community to experience and know the different traditions, costumes, foods, and music that International Students bring to Portland.
Dinner will be served from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the SMSU cafeteria while country booths with cultural artifacts, instruments, paintings, costumes, and travel information from different places of the world will be demonstrated by International Students in the 2nd floor in SMSU. Entertainment and performances will start at 7:00 p.m. in the SMSU ballroom.
