Dr. Patrick J. Bartlein, a professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Oregon, is internationally known for his contribution to paleoclimatology, environmental modeling, and data analysis and visualization. He has published dozens of papers in journals such as Quaternary Research, Quaternary Science Reviews, and Ecological Monographs on topics ranging from fire history in Yellowstone to responses of organisms and ecosystems to climate change over the last 15,000 years, and reconstructions of climate dynamics for Alaska, North America and Europe.
