Thursday, October 25, 2007 - 7:00pm to Thursday, October 25, 2007 - 9:00pm
Friends of History to explore the early roots of baseball in the Portland-Vancouver Area. This is a lead-in to PSU Weekend on October 25.

Long before multi-million dollar salaries and astro-turf, organized base ball (then spelled out in two words) made its debut 140 years ago in this corner of the Pacific Northwest. Join PSU's History faculty to learn about its early history as PSU Alumnus Greg Shine, Chief Ranger and Historian at the Ft. Vancouver National Historical Site will explore the roots of the game in 1867, including its organization, players, and early match game play in his talk entitled: "On the Fly: The Rise of Base Ball in the Portland-Vancouver Area."

When: Thursday, October 25th
Where:
SMSU Room 238 (1825 SW Broadway)
Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Dessert and coffee begin at 7:00 pm
Talk begins at 7:30 pm
