Fifth Annual Robert Burns Supper

Hello Everyone,

For those of you that have never experienced a Burns Supper before I have attached an information sheet with a little background information on what this is all about.  (Please click on the words Burns Supper above).

Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. is our Fifth Annual Robert Burns Supper being held at Portland State University.  Dinner will be held again in the PSU Ballroom in the Smith Memorial Student Union Building.  The last four years have been spectacular!  We would like to thank everyone who has attended in the past and welcome you to attend the dinner again this year!

We are also fortunate to be inviting back the Rose in the Heather band for more of their incredible Celtic music. 

Here is what you have to look forward to this year:

  • Hosted reception with appetizers.

  • Commemorative glasses.

  • Rose in the Heather band of course.

  • Bag Piper to open the evening and pipe in the haggis.

  • Ode to the Haggis by John MacLean.

  • Highland dancers.

  • Mike Burton our Master of Ceremonies.

  • The Immortal Memory.

  • The Toast to the Lassies.

  • Traditional haggis, neeps and tatties.

  • A surprise dessert with coffee or tea.

  • No host bar for the evening.

  • A whisky tasting with the whisky sponsor to be named later.

  • Plus, door and raffle prizes and much more.

Come join in the fun! It is going to be a spectacular evening!

Tickets are on sale now at the PSU Box Office (located in the Smith Memorial Student Union Building lobby on the Portland State University campus, (503-725-3307). Credit cards are welcome and all fees are included in the ticket price.  Tickets are $50 for dinner and $40 for the whisky tasting.  If you purchase your tickets before November 1, 2010 you will save $5 on dinner and $5 on the whisky tasting. Dinner is allowed without the whisky tasting, but the whisky tasting is not allowed without dinner.  Any additional questions, please contact Jodie MacLean at macleanj@pdx.edu or 503 725 5143.

This year we will continue to offer – A Sponsor Table. For $1,000 your party of eight (8) will be seated at a reserved table with two bottles of local Oregon wine.  Each of your eight guests will receive; a dinner ticket, a whisky tasting ticket, a commemorative wine glass, a door prize ticket, and two raffle tickets.  In addition, your company name and logo will appear as a Sponsor on this website.  Please consider using this entertaining event as a way to thank your clients or employees and to support Portland State University’s School of Fine and Performing Arts.  We hope you will join us for this special and fun-filled event.  All contributions are greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged in our program and on the website.
