The Portland Center for Public Humanities and the Middle East Studies Center are pleased to welcome Laura Robson to March’s Faculty Lunch and Lecture. She will be presenting: 

Migration and Resettlement in the Assyrian Experience

This talk explores the regional and global ramifications of the League of Nations’ plan to resettle the Assyrian community of Iraq in the aftermath of the 1933 massacre. 

Laura Robson is Assistant Professor of Modern Middle Eastern History at Portland State. She received her doctorate from Yale University in 2009, and is the author of Colonialism and Christianity in Mandate Palestine (University of Texas Press, 2011).
