Expanding Architecture: A Conversation on Engagement and Change

An open forum on socially responsible architecture at Portland State University will feature the founder of a nonprofit organization that provides architecture and planning services to communities in need.
"Expanding Architecture: A Conversation on Engagement and
Change" will discuss how architects and designers can play a more direct role in
solving social and environmental problems facing the country’s communities.
Bryan Bell, the founder of nonprofit Design Corps, will be a
special guest speaker. Other presenters at the forum will include Janet Hammer,
director of the Social Equity and Opportunity Forum at PSU;Sergio Palleroni,
associate professor of architecture at PSU and founder of the BaSiC Initiative;
John Duke, clinic director for Outside In; Abby Dacey of Architects Without
Borders-Oregon; and representatives from BOORA Architects.
