WHAT: The PSU Friends of History is observing the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day with the free screening of the award-winning documentary Crude by Joe Berlinger. The documentary was 3 years in the making, ans is described as "the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial environmental lawsuits on the planet." Rolling Stones film critic Peter Travers wrote, "Here's a powerhouse of a documentary that makes you feel mad as hell and unwilling to take it anymore"
Shot in dozen of locations on three continents, Berlinger caught the essence of the drama behind the trial as it unfolded while the case expanded from an obscure legal fight to an international affair. "Crude brings attention to the human cost of man's dependence on oil and the increasingly difficult task of holding a major corporation accountable for its past deeds.
