The Disappeared: Images of the Environment at Freetown's Urban Margins

In collaboration with the Multnomah County Library's annual Everybody Reads event, the Portland Center for Public Humanities at PSU is excited to bring Daniel Hoffman, University of Washington anthropology professor and scholar on West African culture and politics.

He will conduct a workshop entitled:

The Disappeared: Images of the Environment at Freetown's Urban Margins

Discussion with Daniel Hoffman on his article, "The Disappeared," which charts a different path for engaged visual ethnography and for intervening in the politics of visual representation.
